Maryland CSW was founded in 2004 by Coach Alvin Chan. Initially created for students training in CSW to further their training and to help promote CSW within the state of Maryland. All classes are taught by Coach Alvin; a former full contact fighter who competed in amateur Muay Thai, Filipino Stick Fighting, and Submission Wrestling tournaments on a national level. He was a former alternate member of the 2002 WKA US Thai Boxing Team and Bronze medalist in the US Thai Boxing Championship. As an experienced and respected health & fitness leader in the Columbia area; Coach Alvin has trained many competitive and non-competitive athletes in mixed martial arts and strength & conditioning.
